The Larne Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and the Mid & East Antrim Police Service for Northern Ireland partnered with Additude Creative to launch a public awareness campaign regarding Legal Highs. This initiative is aimed at educating both young people and adults about the risks associated with substance abuse, with a particular focus on substances commonly referred to as ‘legal highs’.
The project is tailored to target post-primary young people, primarily in youth club settings. Its main objective is to challenge common misconceptions, such as the mistaken belief that legal drugs are inherently safe. Through this campaign, information will be disseminated about the dangers posed by ‘legal highs’, including their associated signs and effects.
By raising awareness and providing crucial information, the campaign seeks to empower individuals to make informed choices regarding substance use and to deter them from engaging in risky behaviours related to legal highs.
